17) Will the ink discolour? The intensity of the pigment will fade over time but proper color mixing by the artist should prevent the pigment from discoloring.
-
19) Is there anything I can’t do after the procedure? We recommend not to let your eyebrows get in contact with WATER within the first 7 days after microblading. It would also be best to restrict SUN exposure, SWIMMING and EXCESSIVE SWEATING while your eyebrows are still healing since these could DRAMATICALLY affect the retention of the pigment in the skin.
-
13) Can I do without the complimentary touch-up?Based on our experience, most people will really benefit from the touch-up session. Ink retention varies among skin types and other factors but most importantly, because microblading does not use as much pigment compared to traditional eyebrow tattooing, it is generally expected that there will be some loss in color after healing.
-
14) Will my eyebrows still grow after microblading?Yes, of course. Microblading does not affect hair growth in any way.
-
4) Is microblading the same as an eyebrow tattoo?Essentially, microblading is still a form of a tattoo except it is handmade, resulting in a light feathery finish compared to the traditional eyebrow tattoo which is created with the use of a machine.
-
18) Is microblading safe for people with diabetes/ heart disease/ epilepsy/ pregnant/ lactating, etc.?"This depends on the severity of your condition and your ability to heal but we highly discourage tattoos on pregnant women. It will be best to consult with your physician before undergoing the procedure
-
2) Is microblading painful? The pain is minimal and very tolerable. We also use topical anesthetics for our clients to have a comfortable experience
-
18) How often do I need to get a retouch? You will be provided with 1 complimentary retouch to further tweak your eyebrow shape, but to maintain the best color of the brow, a retouch every 6-12 months is highly recommended.
-
16) What color will be used for the ink?The color to be used has to match the natural color of the hair of the brows or the roots of the hair on your head. The desired results will not be achieved if an ink lighter than the natural brows is used because it will be overpowered by the darker hairs. To match your brows to your hair color (which could vary according to your whim), makeup will have to be utilized but it can only be used after the brows have fully healed.
-
7) How do I book for an appointment? We require a minimum down payment of $300 which you can bring to your consultation or use to to secure your desired appointment via online booking. You may also walk in... but whether we can accommodate you, will depend on the artist's availability for that day
-
19) Can I still have microblading done on me if I already have an existing eyebrow tattoo? This depends on the opacity of the old tattoo. If it’s very dark and solid, then microblading would not be possible. Microblading is best achieved on people without any existing eyebrow tattoos
-
11) How long does it take to heal?Superficial healing should take more or less 7-14 days. However, this could differ from person to person. There might be some scabbing within this period. Make sure not pick or remove any of this. You will expect to see the full results after a month. No strenuous work outs or sports that cause sweating or opening of pores to ensure best long lasting healing results.
-
6) How many hours does the procedure take?It is best to set aside at least 2 hours to include anesthesia setting, eyebrow shaping and the microblading procedure itself
-
5) Is microblading the same as embroidery, 6d, 4d, 3d, 4s, etc?"Yes, the effects are very similar and the difference is more in the terminology
-
9) How do I prepare myself before the procedure? We would prefer if you don't thread, shave or pluck your eyebrows beforehand so we can see it's natural shape. Make sure not come in with sunburned and/or peeling skin as this would be almost impossible to microblade on. No smoking, coffee, blood thinning medications or alcohol prior to procedure; it causes excessive bleeding which hinders pigment retention and healing.
-
15) How long does the ink last on the skin? There are various factors that affect ink retention on the skin such as: sun exposure, skin type and skin care products. This differs per person but generally, it should last for 1-2 years.
-
10) Will there be swelling? There will be some slight swelling and reddening of the skin but this is not very noticeable and will go away quickly after the procedure.
-
12) How long after the initial procedure will the complimentary session be done?We recommend a minimum of 6 weeks after the first session to allow the skin to heal completely before another session. Forcing another session before the said period will cause a high risk for scarring.
-
3) Is microblading safe?Yes. it is very safe. We use pre-sterilized and disposable needles and equipment for every customer to ensure that there is no cross-contamination
-
1) What is Microblading?Microblading is the newest semi-permanent makeup procedure wherein very fine blades are utilized to manually create hyperrealistic strokes by hand, thereby mimicking the natural hairs of the brows
-
8) Do you take credit card and/or check? We accept cash, debit and credit. No cheques.
-
8) What are some good waxing aftercare practices to follow?- do not exfoliate until at least 24 hours after the appointment (then do it often) - avoid tight clothes after brazilian wax appointments or any other area likely to be covered - avoid excessive sun exposure the day after your appointment.
-
2) Why do people wax?reasons range from intimate improvements to doctors orders. A more hygienic body, improved appearances, sports benefits for athletes, etc. Beautiful, silky smooth skin is easier to maintain and much more convenient due to longer times before hair growth returns. Its much more comfortable than shaving every day - I have yet to meet any client who loves that ugly, uncomfortable sharp hair stubble.
-
1) What areas of the body can be waxed? On just about any part of the body you feel its needed. The most frequently waxed areas for 'women' are the legs, underarms, bikini (Brazilian or bikini), eyebrows and face. For the men its usually the chest, legs, arms, underarms and back. The exception for waxing are those handsome beards.
-
4) Is the waxing process painful?Wax has some bite, yes. But, it gets easier to bare over time and the new hair growth is always thinner so the wax doesn't have as much hair to pull the next time around. There are also natural ointments that can be pre-applied to the desired waxing area that numb the skin prior to the waxing process. these are a real treat for those are hesitant. Ask for details.
-
5) How is waxing more effective than other hair removal methods?Waxing is far better than any normal household style hair removal methods including shaving, creams and laser treatments. No cuts, irritations, no purse pillaging prices or embarrassing scars. Plus, its fast and lasts for weeks! Need I say more?
-
10) Who should avoid waxing?Any clients using Acutane, Retin-A or any antibiotics causing increased skin sensitivity. Clients who have just tanned in a bed or in the sun should also avoid waxing.
-
3) Does waxed hair grow back thicker? Not at all! Going completely hairless can make it feel that way at first but, when you get accustomed to your new hairless zone, you'll most likely burn all your razors in a fit of ecstacy! Since its pulled straight from the folicle; regrowth is finer, thinner, slower and nicer. Sometimes growth stops completely.
-
9) Do you offer different packages for men and women?Yes! I offer services specifically tailored for men and women. Its Beauty without Borders here. My men clients are always raising eyebows of the ladies they encounter when I'm done with em'.
-
7) Are there any steps I need to take before appointments?Tips to help lessen the discomfort: - Avoid caffeine. Its a stimulant that increaese your sense of touch. - Advil or Tylenol a half hour before their appointment is quite useful. - avoid swimming, hot baths or prolonged sun exposure the day before your appointment - Come to get waxed... relaxed.
-
6) How long do the results last?Normally, results last anywhere from 2-4 weeks. But, repeat waxing actually stunts hair growth! Continual waxing damages the hair follicle, inhibiting hair growth over time.
-
5) How often should I get touch-ups?We recommend getting a touch up every 2 to 4 weeks. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Other factors such as exposure to steam, humidity or touching your eyes alot may cause the extensions to fall sooner. Touch-ups can take anywhere from 45 - 60 minutes, depending on how long you wait between appointments. During your touch-up appointment, we will remove make-up residue, remove grown-out extensions, prime your lashes and apply extensions to new lash growth. A good indicator of when to be in for a fill is when your extensions are 50% gone.
-
7) Can I apply mascara to eyelash extensions?Yes, it must however only be water based mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil based mascara can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions causing them to fall sooner. Care also needs to be taken in washing off the mascara. Only use a water based eye makeup remover. Lola Lash Bar sells a volumizing water based mascara and oil free makeup remover.
-
2) What do eyelash extensions look like when applied? With proper application, meaning one synthetic eyelash applied to one natural lash the look and feel is completely natural looking and real. No one will know you have extensions. They will just think you were born with beautiful, long lashes!
-
1) What are eyelash extensions?Eyelash extensions are an exciting new way to extend the length and thickness of your natural eyelashes. Lash extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look.
-
3) How long will it take to apply eyelash extensions and how is it done?Lashes are applied while you are lying down with your eyes closed in a cozy, warm spa bed. This beauty rest can take about 1.5 hours for a full set, and depending on the set of lashes you desire. After cleaning and priming your lashes, your bottom lashes are protected with an anti-aging eyepad or medical tape and then lash extensions are applied 1-to-1 with medical-adhesive. It is a very relaxing, non-invasive procedure and most clients fall asleep!
-
10) Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?"Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low. We do recommend however that you do not wash your eye area for at least 24 hours after the eyelash application.
-
12) How do I take care of my new eyelash extensions?- Do not get lashes wet for at least 24 hours - Use oil-free eye makeup remover - Avoid hot steam or sauna (minimize hot yoga) - Avoid sleeping on your stomach to avoid pressure on the extensions - Avoid running water directly on your lashes - Do not rub, pick or pull at your eyelids - Only use water based mascara (optional). If applying mascara, do so from middle to tip avoiding the root area. - Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler
-
11) Is there anything I should do to prepare for my appointment?Yes! Try your best to arrive without any eye makeup. This will minimize the cleanup time and allow more time for applying the extensions. You will need to keep your lashes dry for 24 hours after the application so it's also a good idea to have your hair washed the day of or night before.
-
13) Who should NOT wear eyelash extensions?Eyelash extensions may not be suitable for people who: - Have pre-existing eyelid or eye conditions such as blepharitis and ocular rosacea - Are very rough with themselves and do not want to follow after care instructions - Want a very heavy mascara look but do not have the natural lashes to support it - Have a condition called Trichotillomania, which is compulsive pulling or twisting of hair or eyelashes - You are in chlorinated water many times a week - Cannot control rubbing their eyes
-
8) Can I use eyelash curlers with eyelash extensions? We do not recommend using mechanical eyelash curlers on your eyelash extensions as these curlers will damage the extensions and possibly your own natural lashes. The extensions do have a natural curl but if more of a curl is required we recommend using a heated eyelash curler. Lola Lash Bar sells Japonesque heated eyelash curlers.
-
4) How long do eyelash extensions last?Eyelash extensions can last up to 6 weeks when properly cared for. However they are no longer full at 6 weeks. Therefore fill are recommended to keep your lashes full. The extensions will shed with the natural growth cycle of your own lashes. If you choose to get touch-ups in between they will last as long as you continue to fill them in.
-
6) I'm a bride-to-be or going on vacation, when is the best time to book an appointment?"If you've never had eyelash extensions applied before then we recommend booking a full-set 2 weeks before your wedding date or departure date at the latest. And then to book a fill 1 or 2 days before the date. This will allow time to experiment with different lashes, learn proper aftercare and ensure there are no allergies to the product. Booking a month in advance plus 2 fills before the date would be an ideal situation.
-
9) I have sensitivities to makeup and/or other beauty products/services, can I still have an eyelash service done?"If you have any eye sensitivities we do recommend you to book an appointment for a 'Patch Test' first. During this appointment we will have a consultation with you and apply a small amount of product to your eyelashes or sensitive skin to test whether you are a good candidate for the service. This applies to all our services including eyelash extensions, LashDip, tint and perm/lift.
